A few years ago I made an unconscious choice that changed our lives forever
I’ll be honest I didn’t realize just how big the simple choice to raise my hand at a Tony Robbins' Platinum Partner event ended up being until years later! Don’t get me wrong we had tremendous impact immediately, but we had no idea just how life altering that intervention with Tony would be until years later.
Come on a journey with us… When we joined Tony Robbins’ Platinum Partners program in 2015, Katie and I were both experiencing leadership fatigue bordering on career burnout but would never admit that, because that wasn’t in an achievers vocabulary! We had started on what we lovingly call our "Hippy Dippy Journey" a few years earlier but we were still so stressed and feeling all the effect of burn out.
We started going to TR events and experienced so much incredible growth at the event itself, it was amazing... but would get home and fall right back into the cycle of same shit different day. We were still making decisions that were keeping us stuck on the career hamster wheel because of what we thought were the golden handcuffs. Spoiler alert it was not!!
It was our third year in the program and we were starting to get really f’ing tired of our own bullshit! We decided in January of 2018 that we needed to make a change, and the TR intervention in February is what kicked us in the ass to make real changes and started us on this wild ride leading us to today!
Our unique value in this space is that we’ve sat in your seat. We were in fortune 500 leadership for 20+years. We’ve lived through the stress, the daunting expectations, the drudgery of corporate forecasting cycles, planning based on the fiscal quarter not you calendar, the fear of “missing expectations” and feeling defined by hitting or missing your numbers. We feel you, we know it all too well!
And we knew something had to give!
Here’s the thing, so many people offering advice on how to break the cycle of career/corporate stress have never actually been corporate leaders themselves. There I said it. As I said earlier I didn’t realize just how much of an impact our intervention with TR would have until this year. The true impact of our experience is coming to life now 6 years later as we are building The Believe Blueprint.
